Dr. Praveen G. Pai passed MBBS from T. D. Medical College, Alappuzha (1991) and obtained MD from Bangalore Medical College (1995). He did DM cardiology from Mahe – Manipal (2000). He worked for 1 year at KMC Manipal as Assistant Professor before joining the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in May 2002. He is currently working as Professor of Cardiology. Dr. Praveen G. Pai has undergone training in both interventional cardiology and in electrophysiology. Apart from diagnostic procedures, he is also proficient in performing emergency and elective coronary angioplasties, peripheral angioplasties, permanent pacemaker and AICD implantation and electrophysiologic procedures. He has published original papers in both international and national meetings. He is also coordinator for MSc and BSc cardiovascular technician courses besides teaching undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students in medicine and cardiology.

Achievements:
  • Distinction in Pharmacology, Microbiology and Pathology during MBBS.
  • Best outgoing student during Final MBBS examination in Kerala University in Dec 1990.
  • Passed in First attempt in MD, DNB and DM cardiology.
  • More than 50 invited lectures in various fora of Physician & Cardiologists.
  • Presently working as interventional cardiologist and electrophysiologist in Dept of Cardiology, Amrita Hospital.
  • Course Director of MSc, cardiovascular technician training programme at Amrita Hospital.
  • Active participation in National & Local CSI conferences.
  • Participated in EURO PCR 2005 conference held at Paris & EURO PCR 2007 at Barcelona.
  • Attended International Interventional Workshop at Cairo in Oct 2004 and in Ceylon in Dec 2004.
  • Participated in CRT workshop in Geneva, Switzerland in June 2007.
  • Participated in TCT – 2008 held at Washington & Cardiostim 2008 held at Nice.
  • Principal investigator – DEMAT study.
  • Co – Investigator in LIFENOX, BALANCE & ALECARDIO studies.
